This is a naked cake. I’m calling it a naked cake because it’s NAKED! I love that the only buttercream on the cake is found between each layer of cake and not all over it. And I know I say this about all of my cakes after I’m finished with them but I’m totally serious about this one. It. Is. My. Favorite. I love that it doesn’t look like a typical wedding cake. I love the contrast between the dark chocolate color of the cake and the pink fresh raspberry buttercream. I love the fresh blackberries. The fresh flowers were gorgeous and the smell of this cake was unreal. Trust me, this cake smelled incredible. It was also my heaviest cake to date. I don’t know for sure how much it weighed, but I wouldn’t have been surprised to find out it weighed 50 lbs.
Here are some beautiful photos by the lovely Cassidy Tuttle.
This beautiful Ruffle cake was for my childhood friend Vanessa. We go way back, back to kindergarten. So when she asked me to make her wedding cake I was so excited! I wasn’t surprised when she told me she wanted a ruffle cake because it is so popular right now. And I’m loving it.
We all know how much I love sugar flowers, and I loved making these coral peonies. Peonies don’t typically come in this color but that didn’t stop me from making them coral. That is the fun part of making sugar flowers. They don’t always have to be exactly how they are found in nature.
